Runnin' Rebels create fun memories, return to NCAA Tournament again
This past March, UNLV returned to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the past four seasons while ending the year with a 25-9 mark.
Along the way, the Runnin’ Rebels were ranked nationally for five weeks during the season – the most since the 1992-93 campaign – and became just one of five teams in the West to win 100-plus games since the beginning of the 2006-07 season (BYU, UCLA, Gonzaga and Utah State are the others).
In fact, it marked the first time since 1989-93 that UNLV compiled 100-plus wins in a four-year period as well as won 20-plus game four seasons in a row.
In addition to the successes on the court, the Runnin’ Rebels drew the biggest crowds to the Thomas & Mack Center since coach Jerry Tarkanian’s final season in 1991-92 proving that, once again, UNLV Runnin’ Rebel basketball games are indeed The Place to BE in Las Vegas.
Starting Monday, June 14, the CoachKruger.com Team will reveal the Top 5 Favorite Runnin’ Rebel Memories from the 2009-10 season as determined by a group of Runnin’ Rebel fans, players and coaches.
We’ll then turn our attention ahead to the 2010-11 season. Go Rebels!
